Privacy Policy of Patients’ Groups in Japan

1) Main Policy

Our mission is to preserve important documents of patients’ groups, to hand down their experiences and knowledge and contribute to the improvement of social welfare on going.
We will manage all information in an appropriate manner in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

2) Collecting Personal Information

Post WWII, patients’ groups’ newsletters have been archived and selectively uploaded on the website.
The purpose and use of the collected information are clearly defined while respecting personal information details.

3) Personal Information Use and Purpose

The personal information is used strictly for the following:

• Establishment of the database of Patients’ Groups in Japan
• Duties related to proper business operations

4) Management of the Database

Periodically the data processing is outsourced.
Reputable contractors are utilized to handle personal information confidentially and to prevent electronic leakage.
Inquiries concerning personal information disclosure, correction, suspension of use etc. will be accepted at any time.
If a complaint is received, we will respond promptly and appropriately.

5) Database Policy

Patients’ groups’ newsletters are digitized and published on the web.
The personal address and telephone lists are removed.
Patients and their families’ personal information is not published on the web.
However, the names and photos of patients’ groups staff are published.
Please contact us if you have any concerns, they will be dealt with appropriately.

6) Third Party Provisions

The information is exclusive to the website and not made available to third parties.
Third party research institutes, inquiring for information relative for academic purposes will be referred directly to requested patients, families or patients’ groups.
